Announcing the second annual Wild Onion Novella Contest

Following the success of our inaugural novella contest, we are thrilled to announce the Second Annual Curbside Splendor Wild Onion Novella Contest!

We are seeking novella submissions between 20,000 and 40,000 words that exemplify the best of Curbside's style — work that is gritty, experimental, speculative, weird, humorous, or any compelling combination of the above. And as always, we're looking for diverse, extraordinary voices.

We will be accepting submissions from June 1 - September 1, the winner will be announced in late October, and the entry fee is $10.

The winning entry will be selected by noted Chicago author Lindsay Hunter. Lindsay Hunter is the author of the novel Ugly Girls and the story collections Don't Kiss Me and Daddy's. She lives in Chicago with her husband, sons, and dogs.

The winning entry will be published in May 2017 to coincide with Indie Bookstore Day as a limited and numbered print run sold exclusively through our web store, as well as an e-book that will be distributed through Curbside's normal channels. The winner will receive $250 and 10 copies of the publication.
