Introducing Curbside Splendor's new bookstore: Curbside Books & Records

As publishers, our first love will always be books — talking about them, reading them, and sharing them. Luckily for us, we're opening a bookstore, as yet another way to make independent literature accessible to everyone.

Opening, mid-August, Curbside Books & Records will be a small book and record store located next to Revival Bar | Café on the ground floor of The National, a new building in the South Loop. Curated by Curbside Splendor staff, Curbside Books & Records features a rotating selection of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry from small presses, as well as records and cassettes from independent labels. As publishers and booksellers, we seek to facilitate the discovery of independent literature and challenge the traditional understanding of literature's function in our world. As lovers of music, we seek to support the local musicians and labels that we listen to and love. We also aim to enhance the literary community in Chicago's South Loop by hosting discussions, readings, and pop-up events.

We invite you to browse our store, sit down with a book, and read on. Follow us closely on social media for updates about our grand opening and future literary events!
